NEW HANDCRAFTED PIGEONHOLE CHAIRS
Like so much that we do here at Pigeonhole Cafe even our
new chairs are locally sourced. They have been handmade by Derwent Valley Chairmaker & craftsman
Jon Grant handmadematters.com.au
He has made these chairs uniquely for our cafe and as such has named them the “Pigeonhole Chair”.
They are based on an early Tasmanian Windsor Chair made by George Peddle who arrived in Hobart in 1884 from England.
Jon has kept the original pattern and given the chairs a more contemporary styling, however, they have still been made traditionally using only hand tools.
Our new stools were also made by Jon and both the stools and chairs have been finished in Milk Paint and natural oils to showcase the tool marks and pronounce the handmade nature of his work.
We hope you enjoy them.
COME IN FOR A TRUE
PADDOCK TO PLATE EXPERIENCE
Richard and Belinda Weston of Weston Farm Produce acquired
Pigeonhole cafe to showcase their farm's fresh produce.
They use organic principles and biodynamic practices to ensure
high quality sustainable farming.
Pigeonhole cafe uses fresh produce grown at Weston Farm
wherever possible. The cafe's menu is an ever evolving thing, reliant on the chefs' knowledge of what the farm is producing through regular visits to source food, participation in general farming activities, and a real and direct connection with the land.
Pigeonhole cafe is fully licensed, serving Tassie wine, beer and cider. Come in and see our chefs along with the Pigeonhole crew
for true paddock to plate experience.
